When Jack & I were teenagers I told him that he didn’t need to buy me flowers because it was a waste of money to buy something that was just going to die in a week. But I would gladly accept handpicked flowers, for some reason I thought it was more thoughtful if he hand plucked them :) strange… I know! So one day I was driving by his house and his neighbor had these beautiful bright flowers in their front yard. I pulled over and jumped out, walked by and sneakily tried to pluck one. I know I was a horrible person for picking flowers from people’s yard! Well as I got ahold of one flower I tried to scurry off as fast as I could without getting caught, when I looked down the whole flower bush came with me! It was a fake bouquet of flowers that they had planted!! It was too late to go back and try to replant it, so I gave Jack the whole thing! That day I learned my lesson not to pick flowers from people’s yards!
Nowadays whenever lil Jack and I go on walks, he always wants to stop to pick a flower for me! He’ll hand it to me and before I smell it, I blow off all the little bugs. So for the longest time he thought that was how you smelled flowers, by blowing on them. Here is a photo of the flower that he picked for me today -not from anyone's yard! Enjoy :)

Yay I have finally completed my last wedding, it felt like it took forever but I actually finished before the deadline!!! Woo hoo Im doing my lil victory dance -also known as the Pee Wee Herman dance!!! Break it down now! :) Im craving to shoot another wedding, so please everyone refer your friends & family! I promise to smother you with hugs & chocolate kisses!!! Here’s a little peak at the package that I sent my lovely bride. Yes... I literally meant CHOCOLATE KISSES!!! Who doesn't love a sweet surprise! I try to live life by the KISS it motto... Keep It Simple Silly! :)
I brought out the old VHS’s to share with lil Jack and we found the movie Indian in the Cupboard. The boy on that movie had a rat that he put in the plastic ball and let run around the house. Of course Jack comes up to me and tells me that he wants a rat for christmas. He says he wants everything for christmas! I know some people are grossed out by pet rats, but my old friend used to have one & he was so cool. I took him to the pet store to check them out & to see if he would be scared of them. He changed his mind and chose a hamster that looked like a stuffed animal that his grandma had given him.
So let me introduce you to the new member to our family… Skippito Friskito! (lil man named him) He is a long haired hamster :) This is lil Jacks first pet, other than his fish that have unfortunately passed away. We told him that they went on a long vacation (like Forest Gumps dad). When I was younger, one of my cousins had a cage full of hamsters & I wanted one soooo bad! But my dad was totally against having “rodents” for pets. Even domesticated rodents. We grew up with a huge fieldy backyard and sometimes the field mice would come to visit. When we would find them, we would try to hide them from my dad & keep them as our pets. A pet we could never touch because we had been warned that they had rabies. It never worked out so well! So I’m not sure who’s more excited about getting a hamster; me or lil man. The other day Skippy must have poked his eye because it wouldn’t open all the way, and I was sooo worried. Man I didn’t want to LOVE Skippy because I know his life span isn’t very long and I didn’t want to get too attached. But I’ve definitely passed the point of no return! |
