When Jack & I were teenagers I told him that he didn’t need to buy me flowers because it was a waste of money to buy something that was just going to die in a week. But I would gladly accept handpicked flowers, for some reason I thought it was more thoughtful if he hand plucked them :) strange… I know! So one day I was driving by his house and his neighbor had these beautiful bright flowers in their front yard. I pulled over and jumped out, walked by and sneakily tried to pluck one. I know I was a horrible person for picking flowers from people’s yard! Well as I got ahold of one flower I tried to scurry off as fast as I could without getting caught, when I looked down the whole flower bush came with me! It was a fake bouquet of flowers that they had planted!! It was too late to go back and try to replant it, so I gave Jack the whole thing! That day I learned my lesson not to pick flowers from people’s yards!
Nowadays whenever lil Jack and I go on walks, he always wants to stop to pick a flower for me! He’ll hand it to me and before I smell it, I blow off all the little bugs. So for the longest time he thought that was how you smelled flowers, by blowing on them.
Here is a photo of the flower that he picked for me today -not from anyone's yard!
