How to prepare for your Portrait session...
Do you have any locations that you recommend?
Yes! Here are some of my favorite LOCATIONS to shoot at. But I'm always open for suggestions if you have a special place in mind.
What should we wear?
Wardrobe is key in a photo session, and it should be deemed important to make the best of your investment. That is why we will work closely together in helping you feel confident and prepared by picking out the best outfit. I love long dresses in sessions, and recommend all my clients to wear them. Here is a Pinterest Board for "What To Wear" to give you some ideas. Simple solid colors like creams, greys, pastels, light tones, work great for these light and airy sessions. I ask my clients to stay away from black and bold colors, as they can stand out in a non flattering way in the images. No need to dress up if you don't want to, dress comfortable, t-shirts and khakis pants look great for men, and a maxi dress for women. When in doubt, bring a few options to to decide from, you'll most likely be changing in the car! For "adult only" full hour sessions, you can bring two outfits; a fancy and dressy casual. Remember to freshen up those nails so theres no chipped polish in your photos :)
What time will our session take place?
Depending on the location that you choose, we shoot around the sunset hours. Usually 1.5 hours before sunset. Please give yourself enough time to get through this crazy Cali traffic. The sun is our only light source so unfortunately if you run behind, we will still have to end the session at the contracted time. Its safe to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the session to give you enough time to get settled in.
When will we get to proof our pictures
Within 3-4 weeks from your session, your images will be ready on an online gallery for you to order. You will have a sneak preview of your photos within 2 weeks after your session. Feel free to copy and share those web sized images on your social media accounts, I always appreciate being tagged for photo credit :)
FAMILY SESSIONS :
Can I get photos of just my husband and I?
Yes! In fact family sessions begin with parents for some updated portraits, this also gives the younger children time to warm up! So please bring an adult to watch over your little ones while I'm photographing you and your husband. Please ask your guest to refrain from taking photos during the session so that your family keeps their attention on my camera, so I'm able to deliver the images that you want.
