Last night I went to orientation with my Madre (for moral support lol! Jk, she attended the school last semester so she showed me around campus). I was super excited to hear about all the neat things the school offers. They offer tons of classes that touch on all types of photography (ex. Wedding, Children, Dark Room) & video editing. They also teach the business side; how to price & market yourself. There are tons of field trips and seminars and you have full access to the lab and printing area. I was surprised to see so many people in orientation and the wide range of ages and mixed ethnicities, I felt like a little ant in an ant farm. Hearing people talk about the types of cameras they had, how long they've been photographing, & the schools they attended before; left me feeling pretty intimidated. What was I going to say when they asked me, "I don't have a "fancy" camera yet, I have no idea what I am doing, lol I’m starting from scratch." The Director made me feel better when he said that it doesn’t matter how experienced you are, we are all here for the same reason- to Learn. He said that people come from all over the world to attend this school; the furthest someone came was from New Orleans.
Today is my first day of school! I woke up bright and early feeling well rested. I took a nice hot shower, had a bowl of cereal, and tried to get my son out of bed. He didn’t want to wake up, he said "I wanna take a nap" while laying back down in bed. He stumbled to the bathtub and the moment his little body hit the warm water he came back to life. He looked at me all bright eyed & bushy tailed saying in his cheerful voice, "Good morning Mommy!" This kid cracks me up. He is only 2 1/2 yrs. old and he already learned how to play Uno with us. He is growing too fast! After dropping my lil man off at daycare, there was tons of traffic that made me late to my first classL. I still needed to go to the office first to get my id card and that wasn’t ready yet. When I finally made it to my first class, they were going through orientation (the same hour and a half orientation I went to last night). Ugh! So I rushed for nothing and now I’m spending the first part of my class in the Lab where luckily I can use the computer. I’m sitting in this dark room full of fancy computers, looking around at other people editing their photos. I just want to be at their level already. I want to Edit! (Crazy voice) or at least know how to. I feel like a dry sponge ready to soak up all this information. Here I go off to class…

We live in a cozy city in Southern California and are always up for a good adventure. I enjoy telling stories with my camera, grubbing on spicy food, and solving the latest Dateline case.
