Wedding Color Palette : Black and Gold with red roses What adjectives best describe your wedding day? Memorable, hectic, beautiful and a blast. Groom says it was unique, fun, & loving! Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there. It was a beautiful elegant venue that catered to our vision and was very accommodating. It's an Armenian banquet hall that really went above and beyond to make sure our day was exactly what we wanted What was your favorite wedding purchase? MY DRESS!!!! Groom says the food! What was your best wedding day memory? The first look with my dad was absolutely beautiful for me. Mike liked the church vows and the grand entrance. What was your something old, new, borrowed, blue? Old, borrowed, and new were mainly in my bouquet -the brooches were given to me by family members. Some bought me new ones, some lent me theirs or lent me older ones that belonged to relatives that passed away. My something blue were my shoes. Did you create any details yourself? We created all the details ourselves :) the picture frames, the decor ideas (branches candelabras roses dim creepy vibe) the food.. everything was chosen by both of us How did you incorporate your personality into the wedding? Well we made the theme dark and creepy but romantic to mirror my personality. We catered persian food and had a Mariachi to showcase my heritage and we had portuguese cupcakes for dessert to showcase his heritage. We had the star wars grand entrance with the light sabers to cater to Mike's love of all things nerdy and comic booky and we had our happily ever after signs to incorporate our love of Disney happy endings. What is your wedding song? From the Ground Up - Dan and Shay ( Feel free to play it while you're looking through their photos ) Many thanks to the amazing team who made this wedding come to life... Fun, romantic, simple, and elegant. Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there. When we first visited The Golf club of California, the first thing we loved about it was the cozy environment with fireplaces, the views to the golf course and lake, and the Spanish architecture with arches and a beautiful fountain. We also loved that the venue was all-inclusive as we are very busy and wouldn’t have had time to take care of all the details such as caterers and vendors. What was your favorite wedding purchase? My wedding dress has to be one of my favorite purchases. It was such a fun experience looking for it with my maid of honor and my mom and sisters. Finding it was very memorable. What was your best wedding day memory? My best wedding day memory was our first look. Although we wanted to keep it traditional, doing the first look was a great idea after all. It turned out to be better than I ever expected. It was so exciting as the suspense built up to it (while I was hiding), and so intimate at the same time. What was your something old, new, borrowed, blue? I definitely had new and blue, but was missing the old and borrowed. With the zoo/circus we had that morning. We only managed to get the new, which were Kate Spade “Just Married” sandals, and something blue, which has to be one of my favorite things that day and that was my lace garter with the police officer “thin blue line” American flag. Did you create any details yourself? I like to say our wedding was pretty simple and we didn’t have many details we created ourselves; however, a few things I added as details were the “Thank you” cards on each place setting and the “Welcome to our Wedding” sign and “Open Seating” sign. Also, a framed engagement picture of us used instead of a guest sign-in book. How did you incorporate your personality into the wedding? We wanted the wedding to be simple, easy-going, and fun for everyone. What is your wedding song? Our first dance song was Give it all you got by George Strait. (Feel free to google it and listen while you're looking through their photos) Many thanks to the amazing team who made this wedding come to life... I'M JANELLE MARINA
Wife, Mama Shark, + Photographer. Most days, you'll find me in mismatched socks and a top knot, working behind my computer with a smile on my face, listening to Zac Brown Band and R&B --or, dancing in the kitchen with my 3 littles and hunka husband, seeing who could come up with the coolest dance moves. I'm a wedding photographer, West Elm lover, aspiring advocate for our buddies with special needs, and a Certified Dreamer since 1986. We live in a cozy city in Southern California and are always up for a good adventure. I enjoy telling stories with my camera, grubbing on spicy food, and solving the latest Dateline case.
