So it’s been a while since my last post but lots has happened… First, I turned in my first homework assignment and here are the photos that I submitted for a good and bad photo of a child (of course I used my child). My lovely aunt Diane took this cute photo of my baby boy for his 1st Birthday. The second is still a favorite of my goofy son, even though the quality of the photo sucks. Last Friday I went under the knife (or I should say the "Laser beam") for my lasik eye procedure. The experience was a little different from what I expected and heard. Everyone raves about how fast it is and how fast they heel, but my experience was different. The procedure was pain free just uncomfortable because the clamps that they put on my eyes to keep them open were pinching my skin. It felt as if my eyes were going to pop out of my head from the amount of pressure being pressed on my poor little eyeballs. They laid me on one chair to peel back my cornea with a laser beam, by the way smelled horrible and totally freaked me out! Then they sat me down without telling me whether I was done, so I thought ok that was quick. Little did I know they were not done… they laid me on a second chair while the doc was scolding me to stair at the light without moving my eyes.
Pain Free, Very Uncomfortable, and Sorta Quick. I was dizzy when I left, but when I got home my eyes burned as if they had a million paper cuts! I wanted to rub them but couldn’t. I had to deal with that pain for about an hour or so, oh and by the way they tell me to keep my eyes shut for 5 hours and NOT fall asleep!! How the heck am I supposed to do that! Thankfully my husband is awesome and put on some stand up comedy shows so I could listen and feel included. It felt so weird to be blind for a day and it makes me so grateful that I have my vision. Also thanks to my wonderful sister n law Chels who gave me my eye drops every hour on the hour, and led me to the bathroom without killing myself! Day 2 was better, doc said my vision is 20/20!! It’s weird even though I can see clear, it’s still cloudy! Can’t touch my eyes for 2 weeks, they are freakishly Red, no water in them, no makeup, no nothing! So that sucks but I have my next checkup on wed. So we’ll see what they say. My doggon batteries died to my new camera already and I didn’t get to practice much, so now I have to wait a few weeks until I get my charger from Germany. Ugh…Great!

Most days, you'll find me in mismatched socks and a top knot, working behind my computer with a smile on my face, listening to Zac Brown Band and R&B --or, dancing in the kitchen with my 3 littles and hunka husband, seeing who could come up with the coolest dance moves. I'm a wedding photographer, West Elm lover, aspiring advocate for our buddies with special needs, and a Certified Dreamer since 1986. We live in a cozy city in Southern California and are always up for a good adventure. I enjoy telling stories with my camera, grubbing on spicy food, and solving the latest Dateline case.
