ALIA + STEVENWedding Color Palette: Slate blue, gray, soft pink Tell us about your wedding venue and why you chose to get married there? It's stunning, warm, cozy, we loved the brick walls, chandeliers and wood floors. We fell in love as soon as we saw it. That big beautiful tree in the middle of the space was also a big draw. What was your favorite wedding purchase? Seeing our venue for the first time and finally putting a deposit down allowed all the coming plans (a lot of them) to fall in place once that purchase was made. What was your best wedding day memory? ALIA: Cliche...but walking down the aisle into a room full of faces that I love and looking toward my hubby to be! STEVE: Seeing my soon-to-be wife come around that corner and walking down the aisle was heart stopping. Not spending the night before the wedding together helped with the magic of that moment... What was your something old, new, borrowed, blue? Old/Borrowed: didn't have :-/, New: Dress, shoes, jewelry Blue: My sister dressed in Blue Did you create any details yourself? All of the flowers in the smaller bud vases were put together by Alia (Bride) and Uncle Tom. The large mirror was done by a friend. The Garland was Alia. How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding? We wanted more of a party vibe with a hint of wedding. Food was important...taco truck style food station...we LOVE mexican food. Desserts were mostly made by family/friends, some of our favorites. What is your wedding song? I'M JANELLE MARINA
Wife, Mama Shark, + Photographer. Most days, you'll find me in mismatched socks and a top knot, working behind my computer with a smile on my face, listening to Zac Brown Band and R&B --or, dancing in the kitchen with my 3 littles and hunka husband, seeing who could come up with the coolest dance moves. I'm a wedding photographer, West Elm lover, aspiring advocate for our buddies with special needs, and a Certified Dreamer since 1986. We live in a cozy city in Southern California and are always up for a good adventure. I enjoy telling stories with my camera, grubbing on spicy food, and solving the latest Dateline case.
