After breaking open some piggy banks and wrapping our pennies, we were able to add a new member to my photography business… Mr. Mark the 2nd! I got the Canon Mark ii a little while ago and I LOVE it!!! Let me just say that I still love my canon t3i!! It has been so good to me! I will always keep it as a backup camera!
If I could give some advice for those who are thinking about getting into the photography business invest in a good lens! Don’t waste your time buying the kits with the body and stock lenses like I did, because you will soon want to upgrade it! If I could do it all over again I would have bought the T3i body only and gone to the camera store to play with a few of the lenses until I found the right fit. Since I was on a smaller budget I would have bought the 50mm 1.8. This would have given me the lovely blurred background that I was going for.
I realized that I was limited with the T3i when I was shooting in the bright sun at the widest aperture and because that camera’s ISO only goes up to 1/ 4,000 it was still too bright. That was something that was holding me since I love to shoot outdoors and I prefer to shoot at the largest aperture my lens allows!
Other the higher ISO capabilities, that the Mark ii is also a full censored camera, which allows me to get more information in a photo. Below is an example… I took two shots of the same figurines at the same distance and the Mark ii gave me more room. It comes in handy when I’m in tighter spaces!
We are definitely are not balling out of control, so this was a huge deal to us! I’m soooo grateful to my husband who generously made this business investment! He busts his booty to provide the best way he can for his family and I totally appreciate him! I am hoping that one day my business will be booming and I can return the favor by getting him his 1969 Roadrunner that he’s always wanted! Lol I know pretty farfetched!
