I could say my wedding was perfect, but that would be a fib. Nothing is perfect and its a good thing I prepared myself. I thought as long as my groom shows up I’ll be good, I totally underestimated how much goes into a wedding. No matter how much you think you prepared, you can’t control whether or not other people do their jobs! There were a few kinks throughout the day, but if I look beyond the technical difficulties it was amazing! Our whole families were together for the first time in 8 years. We were surrounded by so much love and support. There were many speeches that reminded me of how lucky I was to be marrying such an amazing man! So this post is long overdue… I want to thank the people who made my wedding a whole lot easier for me. First, my husband Jack for being very cooperative and patient through this whole process. He kept reminding me what was really important, which helped me stay grounded. It’s so easy to float off into la la land and want this super fancy wedding. Second, is our family and friends, they went over and beyond to help and support us along the way! They helped set up and even stayed after the wedding to help take down the decorations & tables, which was totally awesome! We are so blessed to have amazing people around us, you are all appreciated! My hair dresser Claudia Lomelin (lil Red) was awesome! She did an amazing job and my hair came out exactly how I wanted it! Thank you so much for remaining calm, your aura totally soothed me lol. She’s definitely someone you want to contact if you need your hair done! Our minister totally Rocked! He was so easy to work with and went over and beyond to make sure our day was perfect! He even went on his own to find our best man & maid of honor to have them sign our marriage license, while Jack & I were off taking photos. I don’t have his website but you can click on his name to contact him Minister Dave. We can’t forget about our friend who we hired to be our wedding singer- Paul Black! He was awesome! He really added a nice touch to our special day! You should really go pro! Thanks to Celeste & her 2nd shooter Amber for photographing our wedding, the photos came out great! Also thanks to my family and friends who sent me photos that they took. I really appreciate it! Our friend Melissa Dunn made our wedding cake! Not only was it beautiful but it tasted delicious, thanks for saving the day! She makes Fancy desserts contact me if you want her info. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE!!! If I were to do it all over again, I’d not stress over anything and keep everything simple! It went by super-fast!

I'M JANELLE MARINA
Wife, Mama Shark, + Photographer. Most days, you'll find me in mismatched socks and a top knot, working behind my computer with a smile on my face, listening to Zac Brown Band and R&B --or, dancing in the kitchen with my 3 littles and hunka husband, seeing who could come up with the coolest dance moves. I'm a wedding photographer, West Elm lover, aspiring advocate for our buddies with special needs, and a Certified Dreamer since 1986. We live in a cozy city in Southern California and are always up for a good adventure. I enjoy telling stories with my camera, grubbing on spicy food, and solving the latest Dateline case.
