Ive been wanting to start a new category of blogs with snapshots from what goes on during the weekends. If you follow me on instagram then some of the photos will probably look familiar :) This weekends adventure began with a train ride to San Diego! We had a few things to celebrate -our best friends' birthday and two anniversaries!!! It was a nice little grownup getaway! We had soo much fun! I highly recommend taking the train to San Diego, it was so stress free! No Traffic! It felt like we were back in elementary school on a yellow bus fooling around on a field trip. Ive been dying to see a sand sculpting challenge since I was a little girl so I was soooo thrilled when we just so happened to drive past one! I always wondered how the heck they built these thangs cuz I could barely build a sand castle! The trick is to use a hose with a mister to keep the sand moist! I was surprised to see that they use cake tools to sculpt! Of couse it made me want to try building one! Maybe you'll see a huge pile of sand in my backyard on a future post! :) I took a few snaps of my favs.... Freakin Amazing!!!! If you asked me 20 years ago, what kind of car i wanted when i grew up, I'd always answer with "A Convertible!" It didnt matter what kind, shoot I'd roll around in a hooptie as long as it had the top down hahah! Well when the time came to get my first car I chose a truck! Dont ask me why!
So on our way back from this trip Jack asked me if I wanted to rent a convertible for the drive home, I practically yelled "HECK YEAH!" It was a fun experience cruising around but the sunburn was not fun! Plus the only hairstyle that you can wear is a bun, anything else ends up whipping you in the face! Also not fun! It was better driving at night! I think I got my convertible fix so I don't need to buy one anymore hehe!

I'M JANELLE MARINA
Wife, Mama Shark, + Photographer. Most days, you'll find me in mismatched socks and a top knot, working behind my computer with a smile on my face, listening to Zac Brown Band and R&B --or, dancing in the kitchen with my 3 littles and hunka husband, seeing who could come up with the coolest dance moves. I'm a wedding photographer, West Elm lover, aspiring advocate for our buddies with special needs, and a Certified Dreamer since 1986. We live in a cozy city in Southern California and are always up for a good adventure. I enjoy telling stories with my camera, grubbing on spicy food, and solving the latest Dateline case.
